MTFA’s Lewisham Creative Chorus has raised thousands of pounds for their next show, Dancing in the Mirror, from sponsorship for their Lewisham Marathon challenge.
On Sunday 13th July 2025, MTFA artistic director, Thomas Guthrie, together with participants from the Lewisham Creative Chorus and the MTFA team, took part in a multi-way marathon around Lewisham.
Starting at The Homestead, Beckenham Place Place (location of our first Urban Opera preview performance), participants could walk, run or cycle up to four 6.5 mile loops around our home borough. Quite the challenge, especially in heatwave conditions!
Other members of LCC have been taking on their own challenges, from 26 miles on the exercise bike to 20 lengths of the pool, all in aid of raising vital funds for their next show.

This month’s fundraising efforts will culminate on Friday 18th July with LCC’s fundraising gala from 6:30pm at The Fellowship Inn. Come join us for a performance of the Our Street Medley, featuring hits from last summer’s sell-out Broadway Theatre performance, and hear about our brand new show.
