Performed last week as part for Den Ny Opera’s summer festival in Esbjerg, Denmark, the MTFA/Barokksolistene production of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin received a standing ovation from a rapt full house in Esbjerg’s Musikhuset.
In this clip, taken from a rehearsal before the concert, hear their ever-developing arrangement, for strings, guitars and tree branch, and watch as the puppet takes on the character of the doomed miller boy.
